Urgent!!! - Negative Skin Friction on End-bearing Bored Pile on Bedrock
I have read many papers by Dr. Fellenius. It is understood that the dragload need not be deducted from the assessed geotechnical capacity. It is considered that the pile settlement under the limit state is larger than the settlement that induced the NSF.
However, for case of the end-bearing bored pile on bedrock, it is expected the pile settlement would be small relative to the settlement of surrounding soil. Should the dragload apply to geotechnical capacity for the end-bearing bored pile founding on bedrock???
