  Hi,

May i know is there practice or publication on the determination of equivalent SPTN values related to the retrieved rock sample from rock auger? During construction of bored pile, it is not practical to conduct any test like point load test to obtain appropriate Kb or Ks value, rather using visual inspection to predict the equivalent SPTN values. Is there any paper on telling me the equivalent SPTN value from the broken pieces of rocks? For example, if i can break the piece of rock with hand or geologcal hammer, what is the appropriate SPTN value and so forth.

Regards,

Ong Yin Hoe
