I am a civil engineer working for Archirodon Construction at the Middle East (Dubai). My company is the marine works contractor for 3rd NGL Train project. The scope of works is the construction of an approach steel (sub and superstructure) trestle and of two steel berths (mooring, breasting dolphins, loading platform etc. with pile jackets). My major concerns are the following: 1. The installation of piles through the pile jackets. The piles shall be CHS 1143mm dia and wall thickness 30mm. My intention is to use platforms on the top of the jacket, to put a pile driver on it and drive the piles. Yet although i have searched i still haven't found any publication or even an illustration for such an operation. The major concern is weather the already installed jacket shall be shifted of its position due to forces occured by the pile driver while driving of piles. 2. All of the piles and the capping beams shall be steel pipe piles (CHS). My concern is what kind of platform should be installed (attached) to each pile, in order to cut the pile at the final level and weld the capping beams. Each pile bend is consisted of two piles (~ CHS 1000mm dia and wall thickness 30mm) 12m apart. Looking for your assistance,
Regards George
