Dear all,
In reading a geotechnical design submission report, I found design assumption as follows:
Due to wind (transient load), the allowable bearing capacity of pile is increased by 25%.
Is it a good assumption? I searched in the internet, and find that some of the design codes having this kind of design method, but I did not know the principle it plays.
Thanks for any help.
