Dear Sir or Madam:
Subsurface conditions at our site consist of loose to medium dense silty sand from GL to 6m followed by a layer of very dense calcareous sandy gravel. Below this very dense silty sand was found to 12m (terminal depth). Shallow spread footings and mat foundations are proposed to support various structures of the project. I would like to know if any precautions/measures shall be taken in the design/construction of footings due to the presence of calcareous material at the site.
Regards, MA
