I am looking for an average value for allowable skin fricition for clay for a preliminary studies only. If some one can guide me where I can find a table with different values for different caly types this will be great too.

This is a simple question. The resaon you got no response is only because the information you provided is almost none. Strength of clay differs dramatically with its properties.
Any physical property indices, SPT?
Hard clay is upto 1,000kPa
Soft clay is only 100kPa
