on the future project my company have to do some reclamation and, to form a working platform for the slope protection. As per project requrement reclamed fill should be placed and has to achive folowing lateral subgrade reaction coeficients: Depth LSC(Kh KN/m2/m) -2 -3 >20000 -3 -7 >30000 I would be greatful that someone reply with a corelation between lateral subgrade reaction coeficient "Kh" and SPT coeficient "N".
I agree with Chuck. Try not to get the correlation between N value and kh subgrade modulus. It is absurd that we geotechs continue to try and "squeeze water out of a rock". Literally, you wish to get each and every one of the 48 soil engineering parameters out of a single measurement (N-value). Then, turn around and wonder why our predictions are so poor. Sure, one number to characterize all of the nonlinear stress-strain-strength & flow characteristics of the soil with anisotropic strength, stiffness, and permeability.
